Thank you for visiting my website. I specialize in realistic, Western landscapes. My artwork features views from Big Bend, Texas and the West. To me, I like to paint what I see; to represent the time, place and generation I live in. I prefer to document the world as I experience it just as it is, now in this moment in time. When I am researching a painting, I naturally gravitate towards contrast. Contrast of near or far, light and shadow, or bright and muted, is a consistent theme in my work. I love open spaces, where you can see distant mountains or shores and wonder how far away they are. I like to paint the fleeting effects of sunlight that come and go too quickly to fully appreciate the beauty they reveal.
I have organized the site into several categories:
Latest Work - I've posted my latest series of Palo Duro Canyon here. Additionally, I have some works from Big Bend, Utah, Pecos and Balmorhea here.
Texas Landscapes - Features my works from Big Bend, the Devil's River area, and the Texas Hill Country.
Western Landscapes - Features Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Utah, San Francisco, Grand Canyon, Taos, and Colorado.
Again, thank you for visiting my site and I hope you enjoy these scenes as much as I have.
