Zion Day 16 & 17 pretty pics
by Dennis on 2/22/2010 10:47:20 PM

It's been a busy couple of days and here are a few photos of the weather. I will fill in the details when I can sit down and write.
Yesterday was like this all day so I painted inside.

Today was like this so I took pics ALL day outside. Here is a sample.

Thar she blows! The great white whale, Moby Dick!
Let me dig out the mustard, while you play Ketchup. Ha..I think there might be 4 of us here for our daily shot of Zion. We look forward to it like our "morning coffee". Now you understand. Ha. Been watching on the webcam. That place changes colors all day long. Looks like today was a good day to be out. Sun sure lit up the place. Beautiful pics. Us, cold w/snow on ground. Nice and crunchy. Look like your having fun.

The sun-drenched scenes might be a painter's dream, but the photos with heavy mist and blankets of snow are beautiful. I like especially the black trunks and branches that show amidst the trees' snowy mantle (Photo 1). It's seems to me that regardless of sun or overcast or snow or none, Zion is spectacular. And Photo 5 looks like two very happy people. Look forward to reading more about your experiences.

Looks like I35 running up the hill. Is it paved too?

If rocks are falling into a canyon, is that creating or filling the canyon?

I gotta keep you straight, son. Otherwise, you will probably come back with a new world view from Utah...and a couple extra praire dresses.
